Uncertainty is the only thing that never changes in life. At crossroads in the road, uncertain about our next move, doubting our choices, and afraid of what lies ahead, we frequently find ourselves. We must constantly remind ourselves of the beauty that may be found in uncertainty during these times filled with fear and wonder.
Life doesn’t come with a manual, and that’s okay. Sometimes, we need to embrace the uncertainty, for it is in the unknown that we discover our true potential. We may not always know what to chase after, but the excitement of the chase itself is what keeps us alive. We learn and grow through our experiences, whether they lead us to success or failure.
Imagine living a life dedicated to achieving all of your dreams. How would it be different? We tend to hold ourselves back because we are afraid of the result or are concerned about other people’s opinions. What if, however, we made that bravery-filled leap and gave our passions our all? The options are limitless.
In a world where everyone seems to have it in common, it’s easy to feel lost and alone. The fact is, though, that nobody truly knows what they’re doing. All we’re doing is attempting to make the most of our lives. Why not follow our gut feelings and forge our own route rather than looking to others for approval or guidance?
Yes, there are going to be moments when we feel like crap, when disappointment comes knocking on our door, and when doubt disrupts our judgement. But we have to keep in mind that we’re not by ourselves in those times. People exist who are willing to help, who care about us, and who think highly of us.
So let’s change our attention from negativity to positivity. Let us welcome change and throw wide our arms to the unknown. Regardless of what other people may think, let’s listen to our inner voice and follow our hearts’ desires. After all, it is our legacy, our path, and our story to write. And never forget that we should establish our own rules because nobody truly knows anything.

Are you looking for a place that combines stunning scenery, seaside charm, and history? Go no farther than Brighton, a thriving city hiding away on the breathtaking English coast. Get ready for the ride as I take you through my recent trip to Brighton, where there was never a dull moment thanks to curiosity and excitement.
First Day: March 31st
With great excitement, my friend and I set out on our Brighton exploration. Known for its individual stores, colourful street art, and vintage ambiance, North Laine is a quirky and unique neighbourhood that was our first stop. We were lost in a kaleidoscope of colour and imagination as we wandered through the tiny roads, finding one-of-a-kind finds everywhere we looked.
The renowned Brighton i360 tower, which provides sweeping views of the city and the beautiful sea beyond, was the next stop on our schedule. We were rewarded with an amazing view that stretched as far as the eye could see upon ascending to the observation pod. Brighton’s skyline spread in front of us, showcasing its stunning shoreline and historical sites in all their magnificence.
Without taking in Brighton Pier’s enduring attractiveness, a trip to Brighton would not be complete. The sights and sounds of this famous site enthralled our senses as we wandered down the busy promenade. There was plenty of entertainment to keep guests of all ages entertained, ranging from classic arcade games to thrilling fairground rides.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Wetherspoon to round off our day, enjoying hearty British cooking and chatting about our favourite moments from the day. We retired to our rooms, hearts full of joy and satisfying appetites, looking forward to the activities that awaited us the next day.
Day 2: April 1st
We got up and started the second part of our Brighton adventure with newfound energy. Our last destination? The striking splendour of the Seven Sisters, a series of chalk cliffs that serve as a reminder of nature’s incredible force. The expansive landscapes that met our breath as we hiked along the cliff tops were breathtaking, providing a glimpse of the wild and rocky coastline that uplifted our spirits.
Unexpected events interrupted our intentions to tour the Royal Pavilion, but we took advantage of the chance to wander Brighton’s lively streets and take in the city’s rich cultural and historical legacy. From historical sites to undiscovered treasures, there was always something new to uncover around every bend.
We had a leisurely lunch at Bon Appetit, where we indulged in delicious meals made with the best local ingredients, to continue our culinary explorations. Every mouthful was a harmonious blend of tastes, enticing our palates and leaving us yearning for more.
I couldn’t help but think back on our adventure as our time in Brighton came to an end. Though at first I was uncomfortable with the thought of a well thought out agenda, I eventually realised that both randomness and organisation had their own beauty. Every moment added to the fabric of memories we had stitched together, no matter how planned or unplanned.
Along with treasured memories, I also left Brighton with a renewed respect for the benefits of organised travel. However, there was a part of me that craved the thrill of exploring the unknown and going into the world without a map. Because ultimately, wherever one travels, it is the journey itself itself that counts.
To reach our full potential in a world where change is both natural and frightening, we must learn to embrace it. I’ve learned from looking back on my own journey that accepting change means taking advantage of the chance it presents for personal development and transformation rather than merely adjusting to new circumstances.

All changes, no matter how big or small, present a chance for development. I can now face problems with confidence and determination because I’ve learnt to see them as opportunities rather than as barriers. I’ve turned setbacks into opportunities for personal growth by changing the way I see things.
I’ve come to realize that the most beautiful chapters of our lives are often written in the ink of uncertainty. These are the uncertain moments when we have the opportunity to uncover our innermost selves and strengths we never realised we had. Each twist and turn, every unexpected diversion, serves as a stepping stone on the path to self-discovery.
Even the most ordinary experiences can inspire you, like a warm hug from a loved one, the sight of breathtaking scenery, or a random act of kindness. My creativity and enthusiasm are fueled by my deeper awareness of life’s wonders, which I’ve fostered by remaining mindful and in the present moment.
In light of this, I encourage everyone who finds themselves at a turning point in their life to welcome change with open arms. Accept the uncertainty since that’s where progress happens. Acknowledge the difficulties since they are the first steps towards achievement. Primarily, accept who you are, for it is you who has the ability to change both your life and the world around you.
Although it’s not always simple, accepting change is crucial for success and personal development. You can handle life’s changes with confidence and resiliency if you have an optimistic outlook, embrace flexibility, and see obstacles as opportunities. Keep in mind that a change does not mean the end of the road; rather, it marks the start of a new chapter on your path to reaching your greatest potential. Thus, accept change, appreciate development, and welcome the countless opportunities that lie ahead.
I felt a great sense of satisfaction after earning my Master’s degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering. However, despite that feeling of accomplishment, there was still something lacking from my career journey—an illusive sense of incompleteness. Thinking back on my academic achievements, I realised that even though I had gained knowledge and experience, I still needed to take further actions to establish my reputation in the field of chemical engineering.

It was at this time of reflection that I learned about professional associations like AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers). I had to learn more because I was captivated by their dedication to developing the field and encouraging greatness. My discovery of IChemE occurred at the 2023 Chem UK Expo, and it turned out to be a fortunate meeting. Among the bustling atmosphere of the event, I was intrigued to their welcoming community and fascinating talks.
Acknowledging the dynamic nature of chemical engineering, I realised how crucial it is to be up to date with the most recent developments and trends. I thus made the proactive decision to join the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) as an affiliate member in December 2023. This crucial choice signalled the start of an unanticipated journey towards significant professional progress.
I started to realise the enormous potential that my affiliation with IChemE offered as I dug more into it for my career. The idea of obtaining the prestigious status of Chartered Membership sparked something within of me. It would not only prove my expertise but also open doors to interesting new prospects. Driven by a strong will to succeed, I started this grand adventure with my sights firmly set on chartership.

I made a crucial move in March when I submitted my application for Associate Membership, which is the first step towards becoming a chartered member. However, as I approached this pivotal moment, uncertainties unavoidably surfaced. Given my rather inexperienced professional background, I began to doubt my readiness for making such a big change. Did I really think I could handle all of the tasks that come with being a higher level member?
I asked IChemE’s experienced professionals for advice, feeling inspired by their supporting network. I got helpful guidance on how to handle the application procedure from them in a timely and comforting manner. I anxiously anticipated the results, full of faith that this would mark the beginning of a new phase in my professional life.
It wasn’t only about improving my resume when I joined IChemE; it was also about maintaining a close relationship with the chemical industry’s pulse. As a fresh graduate, I realised how important it is to keep up with industry developments and build relationships with seasoned professionals. IChemE has shown to be the best platform for achieving these goals because it offers a wide range of tools and opportunities for career advancement.
But in the midst of the excitement of charting my career path, I faced the formidable task of landing my first position in the chemical/process industry. Rejections had become a regular companion, the sting of each one becoming more intense than the last. But with every obstacle I faced, I found an inner strength that turned my disappointment into a source of willpower and tenacity.
In my upcoming blog post, I’ll share the rollercoaster journey of job applications and rejections, shedding light on the highs and lows of navigating the competitive landscape of the chemical engineering job market. However, at this moment, I remain hopeful, knowing that my affiliation with IChemE has equipped me with the tools and support needed to forge ahead.
In the end, it’s not only about getting where you’re going; it’s also about enjoying the ride—the obstacles you overcome, the knowledge you gain, and the relationships you make along the way. I get comfort in knowing that I’m not alone as I negotiate the curves and turns of my career. I am sure that I can endure and succeed.

Opening the Hood :
I began my adventure at the prestigious SRM Institute of Science and Technology in India, where I dug deep into the fundamentals of chemical engineering. Here, in these academic halls, I submerged myself completely in the complex field of fluid mechanics, learning all there is to know about the details in order to comprehend the fundamentals of substance interaction and flow. I became intrigued with the grace and accuracy of these foundational ideas with every module, be it the kinetic movement of chemical reactions or the thermodynamic details.
Yet, my time at SRM was not only characterized by the academic foundations; rather, it was the practical applications and group projects that genuinely moulded my knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. Working in groups on projects like the careful examination of packed bed adsorbers for chromium removal was a life-changing event. The focus had shifted from theoretical notions to practical applications, hypothesis testing, and experimenting to improve our understanding.
These assignments were more than just intellectual exercises; they served as teamwork purges where we developed our ability to overcome obstacles by combining our knowledge and inventiveness to accomplish our objectives. Along with improving my practical abilities, this method helped me understand the value of experimenting and teamwork in developing creativity.
My gratitude for the priceless lessons I received and the life-changing experiences that set the groundwork for my future pursuits is abundant as I think back on my time at SRM. My enthusiasm for chemical engineering was sparked here, in the middle of busy labs and classrooms, and this put me on a road of learning and development that still shapes my life today.
At UK’s Cranfield University, I studied for a Master of Science, eager to delve deeper into the topic of chemical engineering. Steeped in sophisticated subjects, ranging from the complex workings of reaction kinetics to the environmentally friendly advances of biofuels and biorefining, I was tucked away in the enthralling scenery of Cranfield.
My trip got reinforced by my participation in cooperative group endeavours. Exploring the intricacies of hydrogen metering was one noteworthy project in which my colleagues and I overcame obstacles to find answers that could transform measurement accuracy. We improved our problem-solving abilities and gained insight into the real-world applications of our academic endeavours thanks to this practical experience.
I was also able to learn even more about the complexities of industrial processes thanks to my thesis study on complex flow pattern development. Through the use of state-of-the-art technologies and partnerships with professionals in the field, I created innovative approaches for adjusting process variables in SCADA systems. The validation of these complex flow patterns highlighted the practical applications that could arise, highlighting the significance of connecting theory to practice.
Through these experiences, I was able to get a deeper appreciation for the interdisciplinary aspect of chemical engineering while also expanding my knowledge of its fundamentals. Cranfield University gave me a platform to develop priceless insights and abilities that go beyond the classroom by skillfully fusing theoretical ideas with practical investigation.
Forging Paths in the Professional Arena:
My journey extended beyond the confines of academia through a transformative internship at Clariant Chemicals in India.I was able to observe the smooth integration of theoretical knowledge with practical industrial applications, which turned out to be a crucial experience. I was able to have personal knowledge of the complexities of industrial operations and procedures by being fully involved in the production of specialty chemicals.
I am thankful for the priceless lessons I gained and the enduring relationships I built during my time at Clariant Chemicals. In addition to reaffirming my love for chemical engineering, this life-changing event set the groundwork for a prosperous career that successfully combined academic rigour with real-world application.
Adequately Provisioned with Professional Tools:
I developed a strong toolkit of abilities that are necessary for negotiating the ever-changing field of chemical engineering thanks to my varied educational background and real-world experiences. Combining my knowledge of MATLAB and AutoCAD with my proficiency with simulation programmes like Aspen Plus and ANSYS Fluent allowed me to effectively and precisely handle challenging engineering problems.
Dedicated to Lifelong Learning:
In chemical engineering, where knowledge is always changing, learning never ends. My unwavering dedication to ongoing improvement is demonstrated by my qualifications in chemical process safety, waste to energy conversion, and process modelling.
Accepting the Journey Beyond:
Our path through life is rich and colourful, with a multitude of interests and passions weaving together to create a tapestry. My journey has been shaped by my academic and professional endeavours in chemical engineering, but my true inspiration and enrichment come from exploring other fields.
High-Adrenaline Excitement:
I compare the dynamic aspect of chemical engineering to the fast-paced world of Formula 1. The strategic movements, the unrelenting pursuit of speed, and the expert engineering all have a lot in common with my own drive for perfection. The thrill of Formula 1 ignites my passion for invention, whether it’s through technical analysis of a racing car’s aerodynamics or tactical decision-making by drivers.
Starting My Adventure:
I feel very grateful for the experiences that have moulded me into the engineer I am today when I think back on my journey thus far. However, the trip carries on, taking a meandering route that presents fresh obstacles, chances, and revelations throughout.
